The new Bangkok airport is reportedly already maxing out at 45 million passengers a year projected. The main reasons given to reopen Bangkok's old airport to regularly scheduled flights was to lighten the load so that they could examine and repair construction faults at Bangkok's new international airport Suvarnabhumi, which has the airport designation code of BKK. There have been lots of allegations of corruption during the construction at the new airport, one of the reasons given to support the coup last year in September. They are looking to repair alleged construction faults on the runways, taxiways and other problems.
